Meet Sharon

Qualifications

Sharon holds an MA (Hons) in Psychology and a Diploma in Systems Analysis and Design. She is also qualified with a BTEC in Reflexology, Swedish Massage & Stress Management, and a Higher Diploma in Mental Health Nursing from the University of Salford.

Her ongoing passion for holistic wellbeing has led her to become an accredited Mindfulness Teacher with Mindfulness Now, a Creative Arts Facilitator with Holistic Integrated Creative Arts Therapy (HICAT), and a certified Forest Therapy Practitioner with FTHub.

Career Journey

Sharon’s professional path has been diverse and deeply people-centred. She began her career as a computer programmer and data analyst before making a life-changing transition into healthcare.

She spent ten years in the NHS, working across forensic inpatient units, community mental health teams, and research nursing — gaining invaluable experience in supporting individuals through recovery and change.

Following her time in the NHS, Sharon became a social entrepreneur, blending her clinical expertise with her love for animals, nature and the arts. She founded Noah’s ART, an award-winning animal-assisted wellbeing service, which has been enriching lives in the community for over a decade.

Personal Story

Sharon’s life has been one of growth, courage, and self-discovery. After studying psychology, she worked in IT for 15 years, where despite professional success, she struggled with a sense of misalignment. Having experienced various family misfortunes such as the pain of miscarriage, a loved one’s attempted suicide, dealing with debts, and the impact of PTSD on her family, she has struggled with her own mental health at times. Taking redundancy gave her the opportunity to retrain as a mental health nurse, a decision that brought her work into harmony with her values. Her approach is straightforward, down to earth, warm and supportive.

Driven by a desire to offer more personalised, compassionate care, she created Noah’s ART, which originally supported adults on their recovery journeys and later evolved to serve mostly children and families.

Today, Sharon has chosen to slow her pace and focus on supporting adults navigating life transitions and loss — such as empty nest syndrome, career changes, or relationship shifts. Through retreats and one-to-one sessions, she offers space for reflection, healing, and reconnection with self.

TESTIMONIALS FROM RETREAT GUESTS

I had such a great time doing Sharon’s nature walk and art outdoors. The walks and being in nature really helped my mental health and got me out. Sharon is such a wonderful human being and she will listen to you when you have problems and I learned some amazing techniques while doing the art and doing the walks

I would wholeheartedly recommend these walks . Sharon immediately puts you at your ease and builds a sense of community. The walks are adapted for all abilities and include a wide variety of activities.
The meditation activities set the scene and really focus you on the present encouraging using all your senses. They encourage a real slowing down and appreciation of the natural environment.
The creative activities encourage free expression with a range of taught techniques giving a sense of accomplishment.
Each session has the security of familiar and new activities.
Since taking part in the walks I have felt more of a sense of community and awareness of the local environment. They have built my confidence and encouraged exploration of different art techniques.

I had just finished a year long group therapy and mentally was in a very tough place. I had begun going to the dog café at Noah’s Art, where I met Sharon, who invited me to join The Green In Between. I was nervous, but decided to join in. I have always loved nature, but would be too anxious to go to a park and walk around by myself, so was happy to be doing this as part of a group. I found the mindful activities broke the ice, and got me working with others and speaking (however little at first). My worries about being judged, or laughed at soon subsided and it became more important to me to go along and join in as it made me feel so much better afterwards. I especially loved using all of the nature from the walks as inspiration for artwork. Art has been something I have always loved too, but fell into a rut for years, after putting so much pressure on myself to be ‘perfect’. Sharon’s classes were amazing, as we focussed on things like mark making and gel printing etc. These were collected, and used to make larger pieces of artwork later. This took all of my perfectionism traits away, something that has held me back for so long, I was so grateful! One of the pieces we made was a book, and is one of my most loved pieces I have ever made. The joy and pride I get when I look through the book is amazing. I would recommend The Green In Between to anybody, but especially those who are struggling with confidence, self-belief, anxiety or find themselves in a rut. I have never told anybody just how much these sessions have helped me. Thank you.
